Winnie & Walter June 2017 Release Premiere Day #1

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of Winnie & Walter's new release! Today is the premiere of In Bloom: Carolina's Florals with Angelica Suarez (and coordinating dies), Mini Scenery: Spotty, In a Word: Birthday Cutaway, and In a Word: Party Cutaway. This new In Bloom floral set really reminds me of In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya so I decided to combine images from both sets to create a mixed media card.

For the heart die cut, I first stamped the images with an ombre ink pad. Next, using the MISTI, I stamped again with VersaMark ink so I can heat emboss clear sparkly embossing powder to create a resist effect. Then I sponged Worn Lipstick, Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade, and Carved Pumpkin distress inks to complete the rainbow look. The heart die I used is actually from a set (From the Bottom of My Heart Cutaways) that will be featured tomorrow, so stay tuned!

I am a die hard fan (no pun intended ;) ) of W&W's word dies so it's no surprise that I used the new birthday one as the sentiment once again. I paired it up with the big "happy" stamp from In Bloom: Carolina's Florals, which I gold heat embossed so it matches the gold spotty background.

For this project I used Scenery: Spotty Creative Screenings (to be featured on Thursday, June 29) with gold crackled embossing paste to create the background but you can also gold heat emboss the Mini Scenery: Spotty stamp to achieve a similar look. I embellished the card with a few enamel dots and some leaf die cuts, and that finishes off the card! I hope you enjoyed looking at my creation, and I hope you'll stop by again tomorrow. Thanks so much for visiting! :)

  2. What an absolutely stunning card! I would've never thought to put those colors together and you have done it beautifully! I also love the metallic touches and think they look fantastic. The black keeps the whole thing grounded, yet it is so full of color and magic. You did a wonderful job and I'm so glad you took the time to share your skills with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
