Winnie & Walter July Leading Lady: Stretch Your Supplies (Giveaway Winner Announced!)

Good morning all! It's hard to believe that July is almost over, and this is my last post. Time really flies! I'm truly honored to be one of the Leading Ladies and have greatly enjoyed creating with many of my favorite products. Thanks so much to Shay and Winnie for having me and to those who left some love for both Winnie & Walter and my blog. :)

For today's post I decided to do something I've always loved: stretch my supplies use them in creative ways. The first card I made was inspired by Taheerah's cards in the last Gossip Column. I die cut the "i" from In a Word: Hi Cutaway, the In a Word: Love Cutaway, and the "Y" and "U" from Typecast: Cary Letters Cutaways to form a sentiment. I sponged the die cuts with Distress Inks, and the colors I used are listed below:
i: Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet
love: Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed
Y & U: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Lucky Clover

You could stop after distressing the letters with rainbow colors and kept it as a CAS card, but I decided to stamp "I LOVE YOU XOXO" (from Sentimental: Love set) repeatedly to create a border.

I then stamped "forever & always" beneath the "i" and that completes the card!

I don't normally stamp the envelope, but I thought it'd be fun to dress this one up. I stamped "sealed with a kiss" from the same Sentimental: Love set and paired it with a lip image (from Sugar Pea Designs Talk is Chic)

My second card was inspired by the sentiment: "You are the yin to my yang." After some experimenting, I decided to stamp the yin yang sign with the round speech bubble from Sketchy Thoughts. I used VersaMark Onyx Black ink and Hero Arts Unicorn white ink. For some added interest, I pierced a dotted border with one of the dies from the Essentials: Lana Cutaways set.

Next I drew the outline with Copic Multi-liner and gold heat embossed the sentiment. I then embellished the card with pearls and gold thread, and that finishes off this card! I hope you enjoyed these creations, thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!

STAMPlorations 4th Birthday Blog Hop ft. Fancy Frangipanis

Good morning and welcome to STAMPlorations' 4th Birthday blog hop! This new release includes some really gorgeous floral stamps, and for today's card I'm showcasing In Bloom: Fancy Frangipanis! It's my personal favorite out of the entire release. :-)

I started off by heat embossing the image with white embossing powder. Then I watercolored it with ZIG clean color real brush pens. I decided that I wanted to add some dimension to the flowers, so I cut them apart from the leaves and foam mounted them.

The sentiment and die are also part of this new release. The sentiment is from Bold Sentiments: Charming set and the die is Charming CUTplorations word die.

I then added some washi tape and gold thread to the top part of the card, and embellished it with some enamel dots and pearls. I really like how this card turned out, and I hope you enjoyed it, too! Be sure to check out my other post for this hop, and have wonderful day!

Coffe Grinder ft. Craftin Desert Divas

Have you checked Craftin Desert Diva's new digi release yet? A bunch of new coffee themed digis have been added to the store. I snatched the Daily Grinder digi up right away and made this CAS card.

I colored the image with Copics and added glossy accents to some of the details. Then I sponged Tea Dye and Vintage Photo distress inks onto a circle die cut and adhered it to the colored image. I wrote the sentiment with a black pen and that finishes off the card!

Easter Bunny ft. Craftin Desert Divas

EDIT: Lucky winner at Krumspring and Top 3 at Creative with Stamps

Good evening! I'd like share with you a card I created for Craftin Desert Diva's March Social Media challenge. I was inspired by the pastel colors and the easter eggs from the mood board. The sketch was inspired by one of Krumspring DT's cards. (Shown below)

The digital stamp I used is called Bunny Painting Easter Egg. In the original file the bunny's painting a rather small egg. I decided to enlarge and print out a larger one for him to color. The ability to resize and manipulate the images is definitely one of the perks of using a digi stamp. So glad I tried it out today. Thanks for stopping by!

Ombre Word Die Cut ft. Winnie & Walter

I'm back again LOL. I came up with a different design than the card I created earlier. This time it includes a glitter word die cut! I love it so much that I just have to share it with you. :)

I created this die cut by first die cutting it from DCWV's silver glitzy cardstock. Next I colored it with BG15, RV32, RV34 Copic markers. Then I mounted it on foam and also adhered it to the embossed sentiment strip.

To create a little more texture and interest, I decided to add some stitched lines around the scallop panel. My double stitched rectangular die is a bit too long for my watercolored piece, so I did some partial die cutting. It takes a little patience, but it's easier to achieve than it looks.

I like how the little birdies are standing on the scallops. They are totally adorable! Let me know if you like this layout or the previous one more. Thanks for stopping by!

Layering Die Cuts CAS Card

I was inspired by a2z Scrapbook's challenge theme this month: Layer it. I decided to use some autumn colors to create a simple thank you card.

If you look straight at it, it looks like the focal point of the card is on the stamped sentiments since the white die cut isn't all that special. I love this sentiment from Stampin' Up's Flourishing Phrases set. :) I took the hassle to stamp the key words in yellow, orange, and red pigment inks, and heat embossing them with clear embossing powder. I think little details like this really make a big impact on simple designs.

Now if you tilt the card and look at it from the side, you'll notice that I've layered seven thanks die cuts together. (white + (yellow, orange, red) x2) Usually I'll just adhere white fun foam to my die cuts if I want them to have some dimension, but adhering different colored die cuts together is another option. And it sure is a fun way to layer things up!
